VB Home Now is a nonprofit foundation that supports and enhances the community system of services, programs and facilities to make homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring in Virginia Beach. Since its inception in 2017, the foundation has invested more than $695,000 toward programs and services that assist households in obtaining or sustaining housing.
This year, VB Home Now has committed more than $175,000 towards programs and services that support families and individuals in need, including weekend meals for Virginia Beach City Public School students; utility, transportation and security deposit assistance for formerly homeless individuals; and short-term financial assistance to prevent homelessness. With VB Home Now's support, Housing & Neighborhood Preservation has also launched new incentives for landlords to partner with the department to expand affordable housing opportunities for families and individuals who are ready to move into permanent housing.
